Well- fast forward a year and a half and I am living in DC, where I am about to experience my first “Blizzard” on the East Coast.

Watching the way that people who aren’t used to snow handle it is a little crazy- schools canceled before the snow started, grocery stores emptied etc.. So, I am glad to be just taking it all in from the comfort of my couch.

Needless to say I am already going a little stir crazy.. I guess that’s why I decided to update my blog.

I am finally getting around to writing again. I have been pretty busy with work and all of the events that I attend. I finally stopped working at the bar about a month ago and am really enjoying being able to go out on the weekends again!!

I am really looking forward to the month of August. This weekend is Lollapalooza. I am going to see Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine and maybe even Kayne on Sunday night. I am also going to a cubs game on Sunday. Next weekend I am going down to NC to see my college roomies.. CANT WAIT!!! Then I get a visit the next weekend from another friend from College and finally I have Nari’s wedding. It will be a jam packed month of seeing old friends and I am really looking forward to it.

On the work front.. I am finally getting the meetings (read money) that I want and it makes me happier every day.

I will to do this again before another 2 months passes.

Go Obama!!

I guess now I realize why I stopped with the whole journal thing. I always forget about it. I got a bit of a reminder tonight while I was working on an ecard slideshow for my niece. It gave me an option to post it on my blog and then I remembered, oh yeah… I have one of those : )

Things have been pretty crazy in my life. I started a new fundraising gig and have been commuting to the suburbs. It has been a huge adjustment. On top of that I am still working at the bar across the street from my house. I would love working there if it was only a night a week but right now it is an extra 4 nights a week. It is pretty hard squeezing my social life into the other 3 and trying to find time to relax. So… I am on the lookout for a replacement for myself. Now if only I had time to really look…

Right now though.. I am going to feed my new addiction.. LOST. I can’t believe I didn’t start watching it sooner! I am still on the first season and know they are still stuck on the island during the fourth season so I am pretty tempted to watch the most recent episode. We’ll see how long I can hold out for…

First day for a few things.

#1..l my new (actually my only) blog. I am pretty excited about it because I stopped writing in a journal about 5 years ago and if I am honest with myself.. I will probably never start again. Not that I plan to record every dramatic moment of my life here. I just think its nice to have an outlet.

#2 It is the first day that it is actually nice in Chicago. I just went to grab some lunch and it is 80 degrees and there are kids playing in a sprinkler. Of course when I got ready for work this morning I wore a sleeveless shirt and sandals.. I wanted to enjoy the warm weather. Instead, I am freezing my ass off at a law office in Berwyn. I am here sending off about 300 faxes for an event we are having in a couple of weeks and the fax at my office is crap. So, I am down here instead thinking about how I am not sure why people blast AC on the first warm day of the year… no one is ready for it!!! I still have the heat on 74 at home.

#3 Going to try a new happy hour spot.. I am really stuck in my Martini Park rut and am excited about someplace new for a girls night. We are going to try the Tasting Room.. it is supposed to be fabulous (my favorite thing).

#4 Lastly, it is my first night of kickball. I am looking forward to all of the leagues I have (over)committed myself to this summer. Haven’t played kickball since about 4th grade but I am sure it hasn’t changed much.

I am sure I will have many days in the near future when I want to complain about the office temperature.. I will try to add some other musings as well.
